We celebrated our anniversary here this year and absolutely LOVED it!!! The food was amazing and the view was incredible!!! We both ordered steaks which were delicious but the highlight of the meal was the lobster nachos and duck fat scones!!! They even sent us home with a pumpkin cake to-go which we ate later that night (also delicous)!!! I will recommend this place to everyone I know! I can't wait to go back!!!
We came here because of the view but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our food. The Cauliflower tacos were delicious and so were the Halibut and roasted seasonal vegetables. We were a little disappointed with the cookie dessert (should have come out of the oven a bit sooner) and the lack of attention to keeping the deck free of cobwebs, etc. We would go back if we were in the area again.
The prices were definitely for the view - not the food! Came for my husbands and my first real date since having our baby. I ordered the chicken piccata and he the steak with the lobster nachos for an appetizer. The appetizer was okay, the lobster on it was hit or miss with each bite- wasn’t fresh. Chicken piccata was worse. I took the first bite and smiled - I didn’t want to say anything because of my husbands effort of planning everything out and surprising me. What little flavor there was from that lemon, which really was no improvement. My husband asked for a bite and his words describing it were worse than my thoughts. Steak was alright. Potatoes were bland. Also, there were about 5-6 spiders right next to us. Maybe we came on a bad night? 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
The restaurant was beautiful and had a fantastic ambience. The food was exceptional and beautifully plated. The service was just as great and we look forward to to eating here again. Andrew was very kind and gave great recommendations for food. It was an essential stop for Heber City. The view can’t be beat.
We had the scones to start which were warm and fluffy. Ask for an extra butter if needed because that butter is savory and soo good.
I had the trout, which was amazing! Smooth, salty, and crisp while full of flavor. Thanks to our great waiter Brett for recommending it!
We also had the chicken mole which we were hoping to be a bit more spicy but overall still great!
The ambience of the restaurant is perfect.
Will definitely be coming again!
Took us a year but we stopped by again for Sunday lunch. First NO ONE Is here. Take the detour and stop by, the food is still great so if your up by Sundance and they are full drive this way. We brought our kids this time and they had the chicken bites and hamburger. We had the mahi mahi and chicken sandwich. With a side of scones. The food was flavorful and their homemade ranch has the perfect kick.
The LakeHouse at Deer Creek offers a delightful dining experience with its charming ambiance and diverse menu. During our visit, we sampled various dishes, and here's an overview of our experience.
Starting off on a high note, the local meat and cheese plate left a lasting impression. The selection was exceptional, boasting an array of flavorful cheeses and perfectly cured meats. It was a true delight for the taste buds, showcasing the region's finest artisanal offerings.
Moving on to the cauliflower tacos, we had mixed feelings. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell a bit short. The flavors seemed a bit lacking, as if they were missing that special touch to elevate them to their full potential. Perhaps some additional seasoning or a complementary sauce would have helped to enhance the overall experience.
However, the burger stole the spotlight and became the star of the evening. The combination of the juicy patty, the rich and creamy peanut butter mousse, and the accompanying toppings created a mouthwatering symphony of flavors. Each bite was a delightful experience that left us craving more. The burger truly showcased the culinary expertise of the chef.
To conclude the meal, we indulged in the chocolate cake and the panna cotta. The chocolate cake, while visually appealing and beautifully presented, was a touch too sweet for our liking. It might be perfect for those with an intense sweet tooth, but for those seeking a more balanced dessert, it may fall short. On the other hand, the panna cotta was a true masterpiece. Its silky texture, combined with the delicate flavors and the perfectly balanced sweetness, created a heavenly treat that delighted our palates.
Overall, The LakeHouse at Deer Creek provided a memorable dining experience. While the cauliflower tacos left something to be desired, the meat and cheese plate showcased the best of the local region, and the burger and panna cotta stole the show with their exceptional flavors. It's a place where culinary delights meet serene surroundings, making it a destination worth visiting for food enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
We have had dinner here twice now and we completely enjoyed it! During the summer we sat on the deck and loved the view of the lake, watching all the boats and the lovely sunset. The staff was so attentive. The drinks are so flavorful and creative. The favorite appetizers are the burrata and lobster nachos, so delicious! The halibut dish was the best I've ever had! Leave room for dessert, chocolate cake and skillet cookie are scrumptious!
A pretzel peanut butter and jelly burger, honey corn dog, fried donut bread with a duck fat/berry spread. Seems like the place threw together what ingredients they had on hand with a what-do-you-have-in-the-fridge app then decided the rest of the menu needed to be $40 a plate and not much better. The view is likely nice in the winter. Summer and fall aren't worth it. Not handing out a dessert menu at a place with questionable food and very questionable prices is also a bad decision. Also, have staff wear something better than a T-shirt.
Also, post a sign telling people if they have to pay the 1/4th sq mile state park fee to just go to the restaurant. $20 per car.
